They are designed to provide larger platform work areas and generally to allow for heavier loads than boom lifts. Scissor lifts may be maneuvered in a manner similar to boom lifts, but the platform may be raised only vertically, except for an available option that extends the deck horizontally up to 6 ft. (1.83 m).
